Depression & Low Mood
A gentle space to explore low mood, loss of motivation and feelings of emptiness, at a pace that feels right for you.

Living with low mood
Low mood can creep in gradually or arrive after a difficult event. You might feel flat, tired or disconnected from things you used to enjoy. Some people describe a heaviness that makes ordinary tasks feel like hard work. Others notice more irritability, guilt or a harsh inner voice. Depression can also make it hard to reach out, because it tends to tell us that nothing will help or that we should be able to cope alone.
How we can work together
Therapy offers a regular, reliable space where you can talk about how things really are without needing to put on a brave face. We will look at what may be contributing to how you feel, which might include current pressures, relationships, past experiences or the way you speak to yourself. Small, practical steps can sit alongside deeper exploration, depending on what feels useful.
I work collaboratively, so you will always have a say in the direction of our sessions. If you are also seeing your GP or taking medication, therapy can work alongside that support.
Taking the first step
Getting in touch can feel like a lot when your energy is low. A short, free call is a simple place to start. We can talk about what you are going through and whether working together feels right, with no obligation to continue.
There is no pressure to arrive with everything worked out. Some weeks you may have a lot to say and other weeks very little. Both are fine. What matters is having a consistent place where you are listened to without judgement.
When to reach out
It may help to talk to someone if, for more than a couple of weeks, you notice that:
You feel low, flat or empty most of the time
Things you used to enjoy no longer interest you
You feel tired even after rest, or your sleep has changed
You are withdrawing from friends, family or work
You are often critical of yourself or feel guilty
Everyday tasks feel much harder than they used to
